The Shock Of It All

You never forget the day your loved one passes or in some cases the way you were told. This day no matter how prepared or unprepared you were for many people was not only heartbreaking but distressing and traumatic. The shock alone could have effected you both physically and emotionally, something most people don't talk about.

Barriers Know One Talks About

Grief can be painful and added problems can make it hard for anyone to cope. Resources, family conflicts, and your mental health at the time of grief are all things that many of us experience yet don't always share.

Conflicting Emotions

There are so many emotions as everyone processes there grief in different ways. There are moments of gathering and support; however, there may also be moments, or many moments, of tension, of frustration, of miscommunications and misunderstandings.

Leaning Into God

Do you feel some things should have been different the day your loved one passed? Remember this was a sad and hard day for you and the expectations that we have from others oftentimes fall short; however, we too fall short for others as well. Stay close to God during this time, allow him to comfort you and restore healing back into your heart. Trust me there is no one better suited for this job.

Stepping Stones To Moving Forward

Learn how to trust and rely on God during grief. A loved one's death can leave you feeling discouraged at times. Here Denise shares her personal story of what those stepping looked like for her, so you can detect and process what they looked like for you as you move towards your healing journey.

Acceptance and Peace

Observe how to live with your grief. Dwelling and ruminating are natural, especially during grief. Although our experiences are different for all of us, we can all learn how to healthily allow ourselves to feel that grief wave when it hits us (often randomly), taking the rightful moment we need towards a place of acceptance and peace.
